The Leprechaun
The weak link in the series is Leprechaun 4: In Space. The fact that it is situated in space is what makes it so fantastic. Leprechaun 4 transforms a ridiculous notion into something "special." You'll be laughing at the realistic effects, ingenious killings, and Leprechaun remarks. Watch Leprechaun 4: In Space if you like the Leprechaun series or horror movies.
Pinhead
Hellraiser: Bloodline is an intriguing continuation of the series that also acts as a precursor to the events that have come before. The narrative jumps between three distinct eras, beginning in the 1700s and ending in the 2200s. My anticipation for the fourth film in the series was not very high, and if we're being honest, I'm really just here for Pinhead and the other Cenobites. Seeing Doug Bradley live is always a treat because he never loses that chilly, menacing, and demonic air that he exudes throughout his shows. This is illogical and difficult to understand, but who cares about any of those things? Pinhead's moments in Bloodline are so horrific that you should see the movie even if you have watched everything else in the Hellraiser or any of the other works that Clive Barker has created, then you definitely need to check out this one. Even if there isn't a whole lot of logic to it, it's still a great fun (Friday the 13th in space) ride all the same.
Critters
The intergalactic setting of Critters 4 drew me in. How could they top the previous Critters flicks, really? The cast list wasn't to my taste. Brad Dourif Astrid Bergman Anders Hove, an actor from Denmark? It didn't seem to be feasible.
And when I finally saw Critters 4, my fears were proven right. It had a bad plot, bad characters, and was just a copy of other franchises set in a bad place. From a fan's point of view, what hurts the most is that the things that made the previous games interesting and unique are either gone or not there at all. Critters 4 is a huge disappointment and a total mess.
Dracula
Dracula 3000 is one of those rare awful horror movies that's so horrible it's virtually unwatchable. Dracula 3000 is one of my favorite films to despise. Even though it's horrible during its whole run time my primary problem is that the conclusion was a blatant cop-out leaving me absolutely unhappy . I had thought "Dracula in Space" would be so horrible it's fantastic, but instead it was so bad it was dreadful. The notion is entertaining, but the acting is awful, and the conversation is extremely unpleasant. I suggest seeing it if you want to feel unhappy the rest of the day.
Also, Coolio. It stars Coolio. Did I mention that?
Jason Voorhees
The most notorious sequel to a horror film where the bad guy travels to space is Jason X. The person, the myth, the legend is Jason Voorhees. The method through which he entered space is irrelevant. Nobody questions why he is in space. The fact that Jason is in space and prepared to cause mayhem is all that counts.
In my view, Jason X is worth seeing for easter eggs and nods to past Friday the 13th movies, as well as his metamorphosis into Uber Jason.
While this movie isn't everyone's bag, it's a terrific viewing for horror movie enthusiasts who adore campy, cheesy, slasher pictures.
